Embracing Womanhood with Pride

Embracing Pink: Feminine Power and Confidence.

“Don’t hide your strength behind a disguise. Embrace being a woman with pride and let your true self shine.”

It was a night filled with excitement and new beginnings. After celebrating my birthday and the thrilling purchase of my new bike, I found myself ready to hit the road for the first time. The clock struck 11:00 PM as I mounted my bike, my brother escorting me in his car. The joy of having new wheels in the house was palpable as we set out on this new adventure.

As I rode towards home, the cool night air brushing against my face, I felt an exhilarating mix of freedom and anticipation. However, my journey took an unexpected turn just a few miles in. I began to notice the attention I was drawing—bikers slowing down, curious glances, and double takes. It became clear that seeing a girl on a bike was a rarity in our city. Fear started to creep in. I slowed down, wanting to stay close to my brother.

The journey home, which began with excitement, ended with a sense of unease and fear. Once home, I resolved to find a way to ride without drawing so much attention. My initial solution was to dress in a way that would obscure my gender while riding, thinking this would allow me to blend in and avoid the stares. But as I continued to ride, it became clear how exhausting it was to constantly plan my attire to meet societal expectations. It felt like a never-ending task, and it was draining the joy out of my rides.

One day, in a moment of introspection, I reminded myself of a similar situation I faced 12 years ago. Back then, I started traveling across Punjab in my car, navigating remote areas and highways. The initial fear was the same, but I overcame it with confidence and resilience. I realized that the situation was no different now, except this time, I was on a bike. People should recognize and respect that a woman is embracing her choice with acceptance and admiration.

With this newfound clarity, I decided it was time to embrace my feminine side with elegance and power on the roads. I wanted people to see and respect a woman riding a bike. From then on, I donned my glowing pink attire and rode with pride, letting my true self shine bright.

Every ride became an opportunity to embrace change with glory. It wasn’t just about riding a bike; it was about challenging norms and breaking stereotypes. It was about showing the world that a woman can ride with confidence, elegance, and power.
